CTET 2012: Important dates

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi.
This year CBSE will conduct CTET in online mode also apart from the regular paper pencil mode. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) shall be held on January 29 this year. 
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide Notification dated August 23, 2010 and July 29, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII.

It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

Application can be submitted online from November 1 to 25.     Payment of fee could be made by demand draft or credit/debit card.

The cost of information bulletin inclusive of examination fees for TET is Rs.500 for General/OBC category and RS 250 for SC/ST/Differently Abled.

a. Sale of CTET Information Bulletin with Application Form at Designated Branches of Syndicate Bank/other Banks Institutions against cash Payment only. List available on CBSE Website. - 05.11.2011 to 25.11.2011

b. Online Submission of application through CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in or www.ctet.nic.in - 01.11.2011 to 25.11.2011

c. Last date for Receipt of Application / Confirmation Page in CBSE office - 30.11.2011

7. Materials to be brought on the day of examination  - Admit Card and Blue/Black Ball Point Pen of good quality.
8. Rough Work -  All rough work is to be done in the Test Booklet only. The candidate should NOT do any rough work or put stray mark on the Answer Sheet.
