Gambhir's run-out cost us the match,says Dhoni

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni admitted that his mistake in calling Gautam Gambhir for a quick run cost his team a win against Sri Lanka in the fifth match of the tri-series here Tuesday. The match ended in a tie, the first between the two countries.

India were in the driving seat at 178/4 in the 40th over when they lost Gambhir (91). Dhoni, who remained unbeaten on 58, called the left-hander for a single but sent him back when he saw Nuwan Kulasekra pick up the ball, Gambhir rushed back but was still short of his crease.

"A wrong call cost us the game. I was wrong in calling Gautam for a single and he was run out," Dhoni told reporters.
India go top of the table with ten points in the tri-series having played one game more than Australia, who are on nine points.

India's captain, who is known for keeping his calm in the adverse situations, said that he too felt the nerves with India requiring nine runs off the last over bowled by Lasith Malinga.
"I looked to stay till the end. If you have a decent partnership you can stick it out. Malinga is very difficult to hit so we were looking to target Mathews. (The last hit) was a bit difficult here, but in India that would have been two bounces and four. When you need 10 or 12 in the last over your heart rate will always be up."
Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawerdene praised Dhoni for a stellar innings under pressure. He, however, lamented his side's fielding display.

"When you have MS batting through it was always going to be tough. But 230 probably wasn't enough. We dropped catches and missed run-outs. You always back Malinga to do the job."

Sherlyn Chopra posts nude pic on Twitter

Sherlyn Chopra posts nude pic on Twitter and says Sherlyn Chopra says it's a gift for her fans. The bootylicious Sherlyn Chopra is all set to give porn-star Sunny Leone and the bare-it-all girl Veena Malik a run for their money. And while a certain Poonam Pandey kept threatening to go bare several times since the cricket world cup, Sherlyn actually went on and did what she feels will be a delightful visual treat for her fans. "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness. I was born this way!" said the babe who turned 28 on February 11. Always up for an opportunity to pose for the cameras in her itsy-bitsy clothes, the Chopra gal has shed all her clothes this time around and posed happily in the buff for the camera.

On February 10, she uploaded a picture of hers, with the quote, "The soon to be b'day girl in the b'day suit."

That photograph was however removed from the site but not by her for sure cause she seemed perplexed with what had happened and asked, "Did twitter really delete my b'day pic???"

But do you think this would deter the daring actress. Undaunted, she put up another naked photograph of hers, saying, "Thx a ton for all ur wishes!!Here's one more on public demand !!! I was born this way!!!"

Good way of free controversy and publicity!

celebrity cricket league 2012: Chennai clinch the Trophy

AS one could say ... the final match of Celebrity Cricket League 2012 between Chennai and Karnataka wento to the wire ... i.e  went down to last over thriller. In the end its chennai who hold their nerve to win the match and also the trophy.

The final saw stars from Tamil and Kannada tinsel world twinkle under the lights on a cricket field. At one stage, it looked as if it would be a perfect birthday gift for Bulldozers coach and former India star Gundappa Vishwanath. But, that was not to be as Chennai Rhinos kept cool under pressure in the exciting final over to pull off a last ball win. From the cricketing perspective, Vikraanth's unbeaten 95 helped Chennai Rhinos score 161 for four in 20 overs. In reply, Bulldozers recovered well from a dismal 34 for three at one stage. But it turned out to be a simple case of so near yet so far for them, this despite some sensible batting by Dhruv and Karthik and some shoddy fielding display in Rhinos, especially in the slog overs.

It was an exciting finish as Bulldozers required 10 runs from the last over from Vikraanth to clinch the issue. And, he cleaned up the well-set Dhruv (58, 46 balls) with the first ball. Captain Sudeep hit 4, 2, 2 before being run out. Then, Vikraanth ran out non-striker Karthik in his follow-through without completing that delivery, an action which stunned the Karnataka camp. Still two runs were needed of the last ball and another run out triggered off celebrations in Chennai camp.

The glamour in the form of the presence of stars like Charmee, Kajal drew huge response when their pictures were beamed on the giant screen.

At the end of it all, as both Sharath of Chennai Rhinos and Victory Venkatesh of Telugu Warriors remarked 'result' was not that all important and for them the journey of CCL has more significance.

Congress wants its leaders to speak as per law

Apparently disapproving law minister Salman Khurshid's controversial remarks regarding Election Commission censuring him on minorities' sub-quota issue, Congress on Sunday said the party always wants its leaders to speak as per the norms of public life and law of the land.

"The Election Commission is a constitutional body. Congress always wants that all Congressmen should speak as per the norms of public life and the law of the land," AICC General Secretary and media department chairman Janardan Dwivedi told PTI.

This is the first official reaction of the Congress party on the controversy.

Dwivedi's reply came in response to a question on the controversy surrounding Khurshid's statement at Farrukhabad yesterday which prompted the Commission to write a strong letter to President Pratibha Patil seeking her "immediate and decisive" intervention.

Acting swiftly on the EC complaint, Patil last night sent the missive to the office of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for "appropriate action".

Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj demanded dismissal of Khurshid as the law minister for acting against the Constitution.

"We request the President to withdraw her pleasure and dismiss Salman Khurshid as a Minister of the Union Cabinet for acting against the law and the Constitution," she tweeted.

While defending Khurshid, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said every political party has the right to talk about their programmes during election campaigns and it was not correct to press charges like these against political leaders.

"With great humility, I would like to ask the EC that if political outfits are not allowed to speak about their agenda, then the party manifesto should also be stopped," he said.
